Along with the possibility of surpassing that milestone, incumbents also face an increasingly frustrated electorate at a time when the balance of the state Senate hangs by a thread and all 212 legislative seats will be on the November ballot.
"I think the incumbents are taking a big gamble hoping that something else or that someone else will catch the public ire," said Marist College pollster Lee Miringoff.
