Injuries are not considered life-threatening, police say.
Syracuse, N.Y. -- A 14-year-old boy was hit by a car tonight as he tried to run across Erie Boulevard West.
The boy was struck a little before 5:40 p.m. by a 2006 Ford Taurus traveling westbound in the 1600 block of Erie Boulevard West, and was taken to Upstate University Medical Hospital after he complained of a head injury, said Syracuse Police Sgt. Gary Bulinski.
At the the hospital, the boy's injuries were determined to be non-life threatening, Bulinski said.
The driver stopped after hitting the boy, Bulinski said.
The cause of the crash was determined to be confusion or pedestrian error and no tickets have been issued, Bulinski said.
The names of the victim and the driver were not released.
