HSBC Bank plans to move out of the 14-story downtown Syracuse office tower named after it — and into new quarters a few blocks west in Armory Square.

Neil Brazil, vice president of public affairs for the bank, said the branch will move Dec. 6 from HSBC Tower at 360 S. Warren St. to Washington Station, a 126,000-square-foot building still under construction 333 W. Washington St. The bank’s corporate offices will move to the same building by late November, he said.

Altogether, about 70 HSBC employees will make the move to Washington Station, he said.

The bank is one of just two remaining tenants in the tower, which is not owned by the bank. The other is Resort Funding LLC, a finance and servicing company that specializes in timeshares. It occupies the sixth floor.
