Washington -- Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill Biden, will visit Fort Drum on Wednesday to welcome home 10th Mountain Division troops returning from Iraq.

The Bidens will greet the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, one of the most deployed brigades in the U.S. Army, when the troops return Wednesday afternoon from eastern Baghdad.

The team will be returning from its fourth deployment to Iraq. It has also been sent to Afghanistan three times.

The latest deployment to Iraq began in October in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The Fort Drum brigade is among those retuning home as the United States winds down and ends it combat operations in Iraq by Aug. 31. By then, the U.S. plans to have reduced its troops in Iraq from about 145,000 to 50,000.

All American forces are due to leave Iraq by December 31, 2011.
