Syracuse teenager on life support after Bellevue Avenue shooting

Update, 8:10 a.m.: A Syracuse teenager remained hospitalized in critical condition today after being shot Sunday night in the 1500 block of Bellevue Avenue. Authorities reported the victim was on life support at University Hospital. Syracuse police Sgt. Gary Bulinski said authorities were not releasing the name of the victim this morning and the investigation into the shooting was continuing....

Update, 8:10 a.m.:

A Syracuse teenager remained hospitalized in critical condition today after being shot Sunday night in the 1500 block of Bellevue Avenue.

Authorities reported the victim was on life support at University Hospital.

Syracuse police Sgt. Gary Bulinski said authorities were not releasing the name of the victim this morning and the investigation into the shooting was continuing.

Anyone with information about the shooting, reported shortly after 10:30 p.m., is asked to call the Criminal Investigation Division at 442-5222.

Syracuse, NY -- A teenage boy was rushed to Upstate University Hospital late Sunday after police responded to a call of a victim shot in the head, police said,

The boy, who was not identified, was treated after the 10:35 p.m. shooting in the 1500 block of Bellevue Avenue, said Sgt. Gary Bulinski. Police could not confirm if the victim was shot in the head, or say how serious the injury was.

Investigators converged on a parked red Jeep SUV nearby. Bulinski said he wasn't sure how the Jeep was connected to the shooting.

The investigation is continuing.
