Commenter says people should put down their phones and participate in the world around them.
More than 450 people have been ticketed so far in the latest crackdown on drivers using cell phones or texting devices in Syracuse. Here's what ratherripped has to say about it:
"Cell phone addiction has been caused by rampaging consumerism. The "I can't live without this" mantra is as strong as ever, this is why people still buy SUVs even though the Walmart parking lot is as far off road as they'll go. Society in general had already grown somewhat cold and superficial before cell phones, now it's outta control. I can't stand seeing people checking out in the supermarket while never once stopping their conversation to interact with the cashier. This occurs with receptionists, deli clerks, waitresses, etc. Pathetic."
