Rain and thunderstorms will roll through Central New York today and Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
About two inches of rain is expected to fall in Syracuse today, said AccuWeather.com. Although John Hitchcock, a meteorologist with the NWS, could not verify that amount, he said these storms are common for this time of year.
“It’s very common for the summer time although this is an especially humid air mass that we’re getting into today and tomorrow,” said Jon Hitchcock, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. “The first half of the weekend could be kind of rough.”
The rain should clear by Sunday morning, Hitchcock said.
