Salisbury, NY – A driver for a Nedrow company was hurt Wednesday when the concrete truck he was driving overturned during an accident in Herkimer County, state police said.
Kevin Hafter, of 71 Willow St., Malone, was driving a 2002 Freightliner concrete truck owned by Saunders Concrete shortly before 1:50 p.m. on Dairy Hill Road, Salisbury. The truck encountered an oncoming vehicle, troopers said.
When Hafter tried to pull onto the shoulder, the truck went out of control, off the road and into a ditch. It then struck a culvert, came back into the roadway and overturned, troopers said.
Hafter was taken to Little Falls Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, troopers said. He also was ticketed for speed not reasonable, state police said.
