Syracuse, NY -- The next 10 days might be the time to call it quits for those who use cell phones or text while driving.
Dozens of police officers will flood city of Syracuse streets during the second wave of a federally-funded campaign against distracted driving. The program starts today and ends July 31.
Police ticketed 2,185 people for using a hand-held cell phone while driving and 115 for texting while driving during an April campaign. During that effort, the most tickets were written during rush hours on the major roads and highways.
