Syracuse, NY – The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a severe thunderstorm warning until 2 p.m. for southern Onondaga, northeast Cortland and southwest Madison counties.
The storm heading in packs the potential for quarter-size hail and winds topping 60 mph, according to Doppler radar. The storm was heading east at 40 mph and was expected to hit Pompey by 1:36 p.m., Fabius by 1:42 p.m. and Erieville by 2 p.m.
Those in the storm’s path should prepare for damaging winds and hail and seek shelter, preferably in a strong building and away from windows, forecasters said.
