Results from the primary election showed that voters are favoring Washington outsiders. Some syracuse.com users saw leaving behind career politicians as a fresh start while others wondered what newly elected politicians could accomplish. Here’s what syracuse.com user ChairmanAl01 had to say:

"Overall, I think this has the potential to be a good thing. I'd like to see a shift away from the entrenched, professional, partisan, career politicians. Now the question is whether these folks are genuine anti-establishment public servants, or will they do what politicians in this country have done in the past: pander to populist outrage, say what the masses want to hear to get elected, and then sellout to partisanship and special interests as soon as they sit their rumps in that nice, cozy leather chair. We shall see."
