North Syracuse, NY – A faulty power strip is the cause of a fire that struck North Medical Urgent Care shortly before 10:57 p.m. Wednesday, North Syracuse Fire Chief Patrick Brennan said.
The blaze started at a nurse’s station on the first floor of the center at 5100 W. Taft Road, Brennan said. The building’s sprinkler system held it in check until firefighters arrived, but the wing containing the room sustained water damage, he said.
The clinic was expected to open today, he said.
North Syracuse, Moyers Corners, Liverpool and Mattydale firefighters responded, he said.
A medical center spokeswoman was not immediately available for comment.
