Solvay, NY -- Four Syracuse residents are facing felony charges after a Solvay home was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night, Solvay police said.

The trip to an Alice Avenue home was organized by Michelle Hector, who convinced three men to accompany her, to put a scare into the Solvay resident dating Hector’s daughter, Solvay Police Chief Richard Cox said today.

Once at the home, Hector, 36, of 1843 Butternut St., knocked on the door, Cox said. Hector’s daughter answered and Hector said she wanted to discuss something with the girl, Cox said.

When the girlfriend opened the door, the four “bum rushed in,” Cox said.

Inside, the four displayed a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money, Cox said. The suspects fled the home about 10:40 p.m. with an undisclosed amount of cash, he said.

At that time, a Solvay officer driving into work in his own car heard the call go out and spotted the suspect vehicle, Cox said. He followed the car at a distance feeding the location to marked units from Solvay, Geddes, Camillus and the sheriff’s office, all of which converged on the car, Cox said.

Police recovered a handgun and the proceeds of the robbery, Cox said.

Along with Hector, police charged Ira D. Williams, 42, of 109 Wilkie Place, Ira McCullars, 58, of 437 Columbus Ave., and Charles Beazer, 59, of 409 Westmoreland Ave., with burglary, robbery and criminal possession of a firearm, all felonies.

There were children inside the home at the time of the robbery, Cox said.

All four were arraigned in Solvay Village Court and remanded to the Onondaga County Justice Center.
