Fulton, NY -- Nine people, including three juveniles, have been arrested for a June break-in at the former Nestle Chocolate factory in Fulton.
Police said that investigators found that on June 29 several individuals got inside the closed plant, discharged fire extinguishers, and defecated inside a room.
Clean-up costs were estimated at $3,800. Police said the individuals also stole about $2,254.50 worth of items from the plant.
Fulton police said six Fulton residents were charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree grand larceny, fifth-degree conspiracy, third-degree criminal trespass and endangering the welfare of a child.
Charged were: Jeremy W. Bailey, 22, of 234 Oneida St.; Nolan R. Webster, 17, 116 North Seventh St.; Joseph E. Swatkowski, 16, 603 Ontario St., Charles A. Morelli III, 18, 618 Ontario St.; Nicholas M. Peacock, 17, 369 South Third St. and Tyler F. Clark, 18, 118 Cedarwood Dr.
All but Peacock were also charged with third-degree criminal tampering.
Also charged were three juveniles who police would not identify because of their ages. They will be charged in family court for crimes that, if they were adults, would be burglary, grand larceny, criminal tampering and conspiracy.
The six were arraigned in Fulton City Court Tuesday. All but Peacock were taken to Oswego County jail.
The investigation remains open, police said. They asked that anyone with information on the crime contact them at 598-4504 or www.fultonpd.com.
