SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney today announced a special program called "Beat the Heat” that offers relief during our current heat wave.
The county's Oneida Shores Park and Jamesville Beach Park are offering free public admission and later hours Wednesday and Thursday. The beaches will be open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. those days.
Normal beach hours (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and normal admission charges will resume Friday. The parks normally charge $4 per vehicle on weekdays and $5 per vehicle on weekends.
