Syracuse, NY--The Syracuse man police found hiding underneath a woman in bed in February after he robbed a Salt City Taxi driver was sentenced Friday to two to six years in state prison.

Onondaga County Judge John J. Brunetti sentenced Anthony Jamison, 20, of 342 Palmer Ave. to two to six years in prison after he pleaded guilty to robbing a taxi driver..

On Feb. 25, a taxi driver told police he picked up a customer at 148 Fage Ave. at 1:50 a.m. and drove him to the 300 block of Dudley Street. When the driver put the car in park, the customer wrapped his arm around the driver’s neck, placing something hard and pointy there.

The driver handed over $105 in cash when the suspect demanded money. The suspect then pulled off the driver’s glasses and told him to drive straight ahead, and not look back because he had a gun and would shoot the car.

The driver chased the suspect with his car before calling police.

Police tracked the suspect’s footprints through the snow to a home at 114 Bradley St.

Officers searching the house found a woman crying as she lay on a bed on the third floor. When asked by police about the suspect, the woman told them he had left.

Police continued their search, returning to the room to find Jamison lying underneath the woman.
