If people really wanted equality, they would advocate for elimination of all benefits (and penalties) that are doled out as a result of any persons relationship status, period. It should not matter if Timmy is married to Bob, not married to Bob, or married to Bonnie instead! And in addition to that, what damn difference does it make if they have children? Why should single people footing the bill for the tax breaks afforded those who procreate. People have been subjected to so much social engineering at the hands of governmental regimes; they forget all about the fundamental violation and start arguing over the scraps! Please! will everyone wake up! :)
